    2013 › Hub

Catphora needed a launcher for a collection of our software.

    What I did

In addition to writing all the source for this Java application, I also created a unique icon for each viewer, as you can see here.

    2013 › Discussions

In 2012 and 2013, Cataphora has been working on doing a variety of updates to our long-standing discussion viewer. This was a mockup of a direction that we will be going now and in the near future.

It will be easier to see the detail if you want to by opening the raw image file here.

    What I did

This is a mockup, and I am responsible for all the artwork and design you see in it. Not all of it is new design, but it is very visually different from the previous versions that came before it.

    2013 › Analytics

    One of Cataphora's graph viewers.

    What I did

I am responsible for the timeline on the bottom, and also doing any visual cleanup on layout, as well as working on UI design throughout the process.

    2009 › Analytics

This visualization of productivity assessment was featured in a Business Week article in 2006. It shows who in the network is creating content, as well as showing the quality of that content. This graph would naturally have tools to further zoom in and see the specific authors as needed.

    What I did

The graph is a standard graph, but I was the creator of the visual way to represent the "donuts" over individual creators.

    2008 › C-Evidence

A shot of Cataphora's web-based coding window for legal review of items.

    What I did

I was the primary owner of this design, and what you see here is what I created. I also did all of the initial programming of it on the back end, but over time other developers took over that project from me.

    2006 › C-Evidence

This is how Cataphora's web-based C-Evidence legal review tool looked in 2006.

    What I did

I was the lead designer and implementer for all of the C-Evidence code up until just a bit after this time, so this is all my work and design here. In hindsight, it seems a bit silly to limit the space for the bins to the center like that, and in future revisions, we ended up addressing that.

    2006 › C-Evidence

Another section of Cataphora's web-based C-Evidence legal review tool in 2006. This also demonstrates the navigational system. The goal of this update was to have the application feel as "desktop" as possible for users, as they would typically spend all day every day using this application for several months at a time.

    What I did

I was the lead designer and implementer for all of the C-Evidence code up until just a bit after this time, so this is all my work and design here.

    2004 › C-Evidence

Cataphora's web-based C-Evidence legal review tool in 2004. I was always font of the strong anchor feel that the left-based navigation had here. This was also when the application was more "web looking" than in later revisions.

    What I did

I was the lead designer and implementer for all of the C-Evidence code during this time, so this is all my work and design here.

    2003 › C-Evidence

Cataphora's web-based C-Evidence legal review tool in 2003. Very similar to 2004 but I modernized the colors a bit for that revision, as well as changing some styles in the application.

    What I did

I was the lead designer and implementer for all of the C-Evidence code during this time, so this is all my work and design here.

    2002 › C-Evidence

And finally the first revision of Cataphora's web-based C-Evidence legal review tool in 2002. It was extremely simple, and was built for our first client to host data that would serve to answer their questions regarding the matter at hand so that they could best represent their client.

    What I did

I was the lead designer and implementer for all of the C-Evidence code during this time, so this is all my work and design here.

    2002 › Discussions

This is rather uninteresting on the surface, but actually it was pretty cool. It was done in VML and allowed the user to drag the items around on the page, as well as having a simple algorithm in place to lay them out nicely in the first place.

    What I did

This was all my work - both design and coding. It was one of the first "discussion views" that Cataphora offered.
